SUBMERSIBLE AXIAL-FLOW MIXER    APM

Application:

Axial submersible mixers APM are intended for mixing, homogeni­zation, suspension formation and aeration of stuffs:

-          in waste treatment plants

-          in industrial processes

-          in chemical and food industries

-          in paper and pulp industry

-          in agricultural and fish farms

-          in dams and/or ponds

-          for mineral sludge mixing

Construction:

Submersible mixers have been designed with direct drive of a pro­peller impeller without a gearbox. Mixer‘s speed is given by number of an electric motor poles. Anchorage part has been designed in such a manner to be adjustable for height to a required position.

Hydraulic part is composed of the propeller impeller with a ban­dage directing a liquid flow and intensifying mixing.

Mechanical part consists of a casing and the electric motor stator, stuffing box and bearing housings, a shaft with the electric motor rotor being pressed on and of a terminal board casing and cover with an assembly of a cable sealing.

Propeller impeller produces axial flow of stuff being intensified by the impeller bandage. Impeller is of three-vane type, with optimum shape to reach minimizing of fibrous impurities catching.

Drive of mixer is provided through a built-in squirrel-cage electric motor, with winding of 4 – 12 poles, and insulation class F. Electric motor cooling is reached by heat intensive transfer from the electric motor stator to surrounding by-passing liquid. 

Connecting cable is of the TITANEX type, produced by the French firm “Cablerief-Lands de Lands”, resistant against aggressive me­dium, sealed with a cable seal. For bigger models of mixers H07RN-F6G1, 5, for smaller models H07RN-F6G1.

Sealing system between the mixer shaft and casing is decisive considering the mixer reliability and service life. In dependence on properties of a pumped stuff, namely content of fibrous materials and solids, e.g. sand, we can use seals of various versions and materials, however always a system of  double sealing. Either two mechanical seals with a face sealing element for heavier types, or one mechanical seal being combined with a inner packing, with radial tightening tip (radial lip seal “gufero”).

Material options is standard, of cast iron with a stainless propeller and bandage, all-stainless version is available for smaller sizes.

Installation, Project:

Installation is very quick and simple – up to certain depth with the aid of a lowering equipment, by which it is possible to direct the mixer both horizontally and vertically.

It is recommended to consult  selection of a mixer suitable type and its positioning in a tank with the mixer producer. Wrong selection of a mixer model or its unsuitable positioning in a tank may cause its unstable running, vibration and service life shortening, and even the mixer failure.

·      mixing effect depends on density, viscosity and volume of a mixed 

        liquid, a tank shape and mixer position in a tank

- three-phase circuit breaker with motor characteristic accord­ing to   

   actual load

        - overcurrent thermo-relay being combined with a contactor and  

         a bimetallic sensor built-in the into the motor stator wind­ing

·     scope of mixer directioning

-          in horizontal way, according to positioning in a tank up to ± 180 °

-          in vertical way, up to ± 10 °

Accessories:

Together with the mixer it is possible to deliver a stainless lowering equipment which may be modified partly, according to the designer wish.

Application:

Axial submersible mixers APM-N all-stainless steel material version are intended for mixing, circulation and homogenization of stuffs in chemical and food industries. They are provided with a special mechanical seal and a radial lip seal separating the driving unit from a mixed stuff. The space between the mechanical seal and the radial lip seal has been filled with an environmentally friendly and/or edible oil. With suitable choice of various materials for the seal wear rings it is possible to use the mixer for both acidic and abrassive environments, e.g. with mixing sugar solu tions, and so on. With changing the propeller shape and size, it is possible to use the mixer even for liquids with specific weight of p >1000 kg/m3. As a complementary equipment there an all-stainless lowering device may be supplied, allowing continuous vertical setting-up and horizontal slight turning within ± 85 °. The mixer has been provided with an overload circuit breaker placed outside the mixer space.
